Beginners Luck Green Smoothie

I was at an event two weekends ago and one of the speakers was discussing four key things to follow everyday to the fullest to guarantee success. Number one of the four was to take care of your body both physically and internally with proper nutrition.


The speaker shared his story on how he began eating healthy: SMOOTHIES! Particularly the green machine which has to be by far one of my favs. During the first few days that he incorporated a smoothie every morning for breakfast he hated it! He felt as if he were dying and he couldn't understand what was going on, so let me explain;


The purpose of a green smoothie is to cleanse your digestion from all of the unhealthy processed foods you have been eating. Because your digestion is whats being cleansed you will use the bathroom ALOT! It is important to drink a lot of water or eat a bunch of hydrating fruit to keep you from being dehydrated as well as pushing through that uncomfortable feeling the first few days but by day three or four you should feel amazing and have this immense amount of energy.


Now Garret (the speaker) loved he way he felt after starting his green smoothie routine but after a couple of weeks he took some days off. HUGE MISTAKE! He felt like "death" again and he called his nutritionist to find out why. What Garret didn't realize is that he had to be consistent. Consistency is key! Once you stop a good habit and then go back to your old ways your body is going to react in attack mode. It's crazy because the way Garret was feeling was actually how he felt before he started his green smoothie all the time, he just didn't notice this feeling before because his body was so used to being in that unhealthy state. His body was cleansed and in a healthier state so he was now able to recognize the terrible feeling poor nutrition gives you!


Have you ever started something and didn't notice much change so you quit after a few tries? What if you hadn't quit and continued that good habit? how different would you be?


I've experienced this a few times myself especially when it comes to eating healthy and gaining muscle mass. I complained all the time and felt as if nothing was working so the first few times I started to lead a healthy lifestyle I quit.


Quiting didn't get me anywhere and it won't work for you either! We'll just end up right back where we started. Atleast with being consistent you can begin to achieve something . It might not happen the first of the third or even the one hundredth time,

but keep pushing, the hardship will make the reward that much more amazing.
