To some the brain would be considered the most important organ in the human body. Our brain controls and coordinates actions and reactions, allows us to think and feel, and enables us to have memories and feelings. These are all key things that make us human. Whether or not we agree the brain is the most important we definitely need to take care of our brain for daily function.
As an entrepreneur and health enthusiast, I am always looking for ways to improve my brain function. spending countless hours on the computer and with clients can be very exhausted. In the midst of my search I have found 5 healthy foods that are known to improve the focus and memory of your brain. Here We Go!
Avocados

I was not completely shocked to find out that avocados were at the top of the list. If you are not a fan of avocado's you are missing out on all of its amazing benefits. I'm pretty sure I am the biggest Avocado fan!
Although avocados get a bad rep for their high fat content, it is important to note that these delicious green fruits are packed with monosaturated fats or the "good" kind of fat that keeps your blood sugar levels steady and your skin glowing! Avocados contain both vitamin K and folate which help prevent blood clots in the brain (protecting against stroke) as well as improve cognitive function, especially both memory and concentration.
Bone Broth

Bone broth has to be one of my favorite foods for healing your gut and in turn, healing your brain. This amazing food is full of health benefits, ranging from boosting your immune system to improving joint health and overcoming food allergies.
Bone broth is high in collagen which help reduce inflammation in your intestines. Bone broth also contains amino acids like proline and glycine to keep your immune system functioning properly and help improve memory.
Broccoli

Broccoli is one of the best brain foods out there thanks to its high levels of vitamin K and choline, it will help keep your memory sharp. Broccoli is also loaded with vitamin C, in fact one cup provides you with 150 percent of your recommended daily intake. Its high-fiber levels mean that you will feel full quickly too which is a plus if you are cutting like me!
Dark Chocolate
Can I get an Amen for dark chocolate! I have lived most of my life allergic to chocolate and boy was I missing out. In reality I wasn't allergic to chocolate, I was actually allergic to the milk and other chemicals that were mixed in the "bad" chocolate! Not all chocolate is created equal; in fact, dark chocolate can actually be good for you. Chocolate is full of flavonels, which have antioxidant and anti inflammatory properties. they can also lower blood pressure and improve blood flow to both the brain and heart.
Now don't go wild buying all the Hershey's Kisses and Kit-Kat Bars just yet. Most of the chocolate you see at the grocery stores are highly processed with very little benefits. The rule of thumb is the darker the chocolate, the more health benefits. Skip the milk and white chocolates and opt for a minimally processed dark chocolate at least 70 percent of cocoa. My favorite is 85 percent chocolate and I love cacao which is chocolate in it's purest form.
Coconut Oil

With millions of different uses for coconut oil, there is almost nothing coconut oil can't help with. When it comes to your brain, coconut oil is full of benefits. Coconut oil works as a natural anti-inflammatory, suppressing cells responsible for inflammation. It can help with memory loss as you age and destroy bad bacteria that hangs out in your gut.
I hope that you enjoyed reading about theses amazing foods to help improve your brain focus and memory! These are just my favorite 5 but there are actually loads more of great foods your brain can benefit from.
